Tareto Africa is dedicated to fostering resilience and self-reliance among pastoral communities through climate action programs and sustainable community development projects. We address the root causes of vulnerability, working towards long-term solutions that enhance the well-being and stability of these communities.
Chronic hunger due to unpredictable weather, droughts, and limited food access leads to severe health and economic impacts in pastoral communities..
Pastoralist livelihoods are increasingly threatened by extreme weather events, worsening food scarcity and survival challenges.
High poverty levels trap pastoral families in cycles of vulnerability, limiting access to essential resources and perpetuating food insecurity.
Environmental challenges and conflicts disrupt pastoral livelihoods, making income-generating activities crucial for fostering self-reliance and economic stability.
Tareto Africa’s humanitarian action strategy tackles the interconnected challenges of food insecurity, poverty, and climate vulnerability in pastoral communities. By delivering immediate food aid and promoting sustainable agricultural practices, we work to build resilience against climate shocks and secure long-term food security.
We also focus on poverty alleviation through skills training and income-generating activities, empowering communities to achieve economic stability. Our commitment to community empowerment extends to advocacy on health and social issues, fostering partnerships to create a coordinated and effective response to the needs of pastoral communities
