Tareto Africa-Action We Are!

Transforming Communities Quality Education Better Health Improved Lives

Founded with a vision to transform pastoral communities, Tareto Africa is committed to enhancing access to education, health, and humanitarian support.

Our efforts extend beyond just advocacy; we are building resilient, self-reliant communities by promoting menstrual hygiene, scholarships, mentorship,  climate action, and community development initiatives.

What We do

Thematic Areas

Sexual Health & Reproductive Health

Tareto Africa champions Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and fights against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriages, and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) among pastoralist communities. We also promote menstrual hygiene and combat period poverty to empower women and girls in Kenya

Education

We are enhancing education access by keeping more children and girls in school through scholarships, mentorship, and creating safer learning environments in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) centers. Additionally, we provide essential life skills training to women and youth, empowering them to excel academically and personally.

Humanitarian Action

We are strengthening resilience and self-reliance among pastoral communities in Kenya through climate action programs and community development initiatives. By addressing the root causes of vulnerability, we aim to create sustainable, long-term solutions that empower these communities to thrive independently.

Fighting Against Harmful Practices

Sexual and Reproductive Health

At Tareto Africa, we champion the cause of sexual and reproductive health by advocating for comprehensive sexuality education. We focus on eradicating harmful practices such as FGM, child marriages, and GBV, particularly in pastoralist communities. Our approach involves education, community engagement, and support systems to empower individuals and protect their rights.

Female Genital Mutilation

We lead efforts against FGM by providing safe spaces and educational support, and engaging communities to abandon harmful practices.

Early Child Marriages

Tareto Africa combats early child marriages with scholarships and rescue programs, and partners with local leaders to advocate for children's rights.

Gender Based Violence

Tareto Africa fights Gender-Based Violence through education, legal aid, and support services, while raising awareness to prevent abuse.

Menustral Hygiene

Tareto Africa promotes menstrual hygiene and combating period poverty by supplying free and washable pads among school going girls
